Service Matters Committee

In the Board of Governors meeting held on 20-04-2002 it was resolved to constitute a sub-committee for quick disposal of service matters pertaining to the employees of the constituent institutions. The necessity for such a committee was felt because considerable time of the BoG was being spent on discussing individual service matters of the employees, a task which could be handled in an efficient and consistent manner by a sub-committee, thereby leaving more time for the BoG to concentrate on long term policy matters.

Accordingly the Sub-Committee for Service Matters was constituted with a Chairman/Convener and two to three members. This committee deals with the following service matters of the employees:

  • Extension of services of adhoc employees
  • Grant of annual increment
  • Implementation of faculty appraisal system
  • Advance increments in special cases

The Sub-Committee is facilitated in making informed decisions regarding extension of services and annual increment based upon the following information extracted from the annual faculty appraisal:

  • Students feedback
  • Results in the courses offered
  • Qualification improvement
  • Syllabus coverage
  • Attendance
  • HoD’s and Principal’s confidential report

The extension of services and the quantum of annual increment is determined by the Sub-Committee commensurate with the score obtained in the above parameters of appraisal system. Advance increments are also sanctioned to faculty members who achieve extraordinary success in the academic, research and corporate fields.
